East Bay Bristol County Lacrosse Association is a developmental lacrosse program for boys and girls in the East Bay area of Rhode Island and Massachusetts. We serve: Barrington, Bristol, Warren, Riverside, Seekonk, Swansea, Somerset and Rehoboth.
EBBCLA will again provide a Land Sharks (kindergarten introduction to lacrosse) program on Saturday or Sunday afternoons. Day to be determined by coach and/or field availability.
Players Team t-shirts are provided by league at the start of the season.

Grades 1/2 & 3/4 Only NO TRAVEL
A new program East Bay Lacrosse is offering is the House League or No-Travel League. Practices will be held 1 or 2 times per week with games on Saturday mornings on local fields only against other EastBay Teams.
The house league will play using 7 v 7 format with 12-14 players per team total 4 teams. Fields are shortened with goalies. Games are officiated by Barrington High School players. Teams may practice together or in smaller groupings during the week and players do NOT participate in RIYLL programs. See the House & Recreation tab under Parents for complete details.
COST: $120.00. , $170.00 after January 31st
Gear Required: Boys: Lacrosse helmet (hockey helmets are not permitted), mouth guard, gloves, cleats, arm pads, shoulder pads, stick and athletic supporter. All equipment and protective gear is the responsibility of the participant. Price includes town mandated field use fees.
RIYLL Recreational Program-
Grades 3 through 8
EBBCLA will offer teams to play in the RIYLL schedule in all grade brackets. Practices will be held 1 or 2 times per week with games on Saturday mornings. Games will be played on local fields as well as fields through the state against other RIYLL programs. Grade brackets are: 3/4, 5/6 and 7/8. This is the program East Bay Lacrosse has always offered. See the House & Recreation tab under Parents for more recreation league details.

NEW!!!East Bay Select Travel Team:
Two Grade Brackets: 5/6 & 7/8 (see Commitment Policy below)
East Bay Lacrosse is offering a high level of competitive play for boys in grades 5 through 8. Along with the rewarding level of play is an expected higher level of commitment as stated in the policy below. The program will provide the opportunity and venue for those individuals having the experience, skills and desire to play lacrosse at a higher level. Teams will be selected through tryouts held indoors in January and February with rosters announced in by early March. East Bay Lacrosse will provide one travel team in each grade level (5/6 and 7/8).
Games will be played at home and away against established competitive programs in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut. There will be an additional fee for this program of $75 (in addition to the $120 base registration fee) to cover additional administrative and coaching expenses.
Total Cost: $195.00, after January 31st $245.00
There will also be a tournament team established from the competitive teams to play tournaments in June 2010. This will be an optional program but players on the Select Travel Teams will have automatic placement on the Tournament Team if they wish. Tournament Teams will have additional registration and tournament fees.
Commitment Level Policy for Competitive & Select Travel Teams

All grade eligible players that reside in the towns covered by East Bay Lacrosse are eligible to try-out and play for the East Bay Lacrosse competitive/select teams. If your child is invited to play on one of the East Bay Lacrosse competitive/select teams, they will need to comply with the following Commitment Policy:
EastBay Lacrosse Competitive Level Player Commitment Policy
When a player accepts a position on an East Bay Lacrosse competitive level team (this includes RIYLL Competitive and East Bay Travel programs), he/she will be making a commitment to the coaches and every other player on that team. The team will be learning and practicing advanced methods of play that will only be meaningful if the entire team is involved in learning these methods.
Each player selected for a team will be expected to commit to the practice and game schedule throughout the Spring season. East Bay Lacrosse reserves the right to excuse a player from the team if the commitment requirement is not being met.
If a player demonstrates an inability or unwillingness to live up to the level of commitment required by the team, East Bay Lacrosse reserves the right to excuse a player from the team or recommend the player move to a non-competitive (recreational) team within the East Bay Bristol County Lacrosse Association.
Playing time at all levels will be determined by attendance at practice and games. Coaches will endeavor to play every player in every game, but the amount of playing time will be at the complete discretion of the coaches.
NEW!!! Post Season Tournament Play-
Upon conclusion of the RIYLL season the East Bay Boy's Travel Teams will be entered to play in the Tournament circuit From Mid June to early July. The Camel Jam, GranitieState, NESLL/Bulldog Lacrosse Classic at Bryant, ( other possible XTreme Lax Groton,MA Tournament July 4th weekend & Umass Tournament in late July). Players who participate in this program will pay additional Team fee plus individual tournament fees. A tryout will be held to fill in the roster if needed.
Coaching Support:
Dennis Dobbyn will return as Boy's Coaching Director to provide coaches support at practices. Dennis will again provide Pre-Season coaching clinics, skill and positional clinics throughout the season.
A graduate of and Goddard College Dennis played Lacrosse at Siena College in addition to playing with the Boston Lacrosse Club, the Narragansett Lacrosse Club, the GMOL Lacrosse Club, The USA Team Stars which won the Grand Masters Division Championship of the World Lacrosse Games in 2002, and currently for the Team Stars in the Super Grand Masters Tournaments held in Lake Placid, Vail, and Ft. Lauderdale.
He has held previous Head Coaching positions at La SalleAcademy, RogerWilliamsUniversity , and MosesBrownSchool with an overall record of 258 wins and 147 losses. From 2006-2009 he served as Director of the Moses Brown Goalie Camp...Served as Goalie Instructor for the following camps: White Mountain Lacrosse Camp; Wheeler School Lacrosse Camp; Quick Sticks Lacrosse Camp; Rocky Hill School Lacrosse Camp; New England Lacrosse Camp; Run and Shoot Lacrosse Camp; Pomfret School Lacrosse Camp; East Bay Lacrosse Camp; Royal Palms Lacrosse Tourney; Chris Rotelli Camp. He has spent nine years as a RI Lacrosse Official for High School, College, and Club Level Games. Dobbyn is a member of the New England Lacrosse Hall of Fame, was name Coach of the Year in 1977 and 1999 for the New England Secondary Schools Lacrosse Association. Named Man of the Year in 2005 by the New England Secondary Schools Lacrosse Association. Received the Rhode Island Lacrosse Officials Association Distinguished Service Award in 2008.
