The league is trying something new this year.

We often lose valuable time on the outdoor fields to the "April Showers" at the start of the season. This season we rented indoor turf space each Thursday night from 5-7pm at Sherwood Ultrasports in Seekonk, MA from January 7th to April 15th.

This is a way to get some more practice time in, run some clinics for our coaches and hold the tryouts for the upper level programs. Hopefully each group will get 3 or 4 sessions between now & April. It is only for kids in grade 3 & up right now. The tryouts/team placements need to come first so we can get the rosters sorted out in order to run practices most efficiently.

This first year at Sherwood is an experiment and there was no cost added to registration for the families. Next year we may have to offset the expense by raising our fees if this is deemed productive and helpful to the players and coaches.

Often we have kids get on the field in early April for 1 or 2 practices and then BOOM - they have a game. Hopefully this will give everyone a bit more experience and confidence as well as help by having team placements worked our ahead of April.
